Hi, I'm a 57 yr old male and fairly heavily involved in a range of fitness activities including HIIT, supersets, Tabata, weight program etc, i.e. 8 - 10 1 hr sessions a week. I am achieving some great benefits and am using your Pure Protein IGF-1. I'm avoiding too many carbs and fat as I want the benefit of a lean input. Can you suggest any other options that might be useful from your range please?

USN invests a significant amount of money into research and testing on an annual basis. The non-negotiable aspect of this research is to utilise raw materials that limit any negative risk to the consumer. It is our goal as a company to maintain and improve the good health of our consumers.

However, some supplements in our range are not recommended for individuals with any serious medical condition. This is not related to a negative side-effect of the product, but rather the health status of the individual, the medication that they are taking and the contra-indications associated to that medicine.

USN has a large range of products that target different markets. As each product works in a different way, the results expected from those product would differ. Hi Akhilesh,

In regards to gaining weight, and as someone whom I assume does not have a long history with protein supplements, I would recommend Muscle Fuel STS would be the best to start with. If you find you are still not gaining weight after at least 1 month of taking this product, you should look into either Fast Grow Anabolic or Hyperbolic Mass.

I would like to know what products would be best to build mass to go with Hyperbolic Mass...I am 27 and a very hardgainer so need to know what supplements to add to my training regime! Thanks

Please follow this link which is our Eating Plan for Hard gainers.

I currently take medication for high blood pressure. The medication controls my blood pressure to bring it down to acceptable levels. I would like to know whether it is safe to take Phedra Cut and CLA, and any USN products for that matter, and that I would not put myself at any further risk.

Hi I just started with the USN weight loss programme. I have tried everything in the past, but usually end up quitting because I do not see results. I have a busy schedule that I cant fit in excersize nor really do i have time to prepare the meals on the diet plan. Currently I am just living off fruits and veggies, and try to get in some meat every now and then. Do you have any trainers in Windhoek, Namibia, that would be able to help me through this process?

Any weight loss goal is only achieved if you understand where you are now, where you want to be in a measurable time period and then if you know how you are going to get there. Fad diets that restrict food intake or food types don’t work because they cannot be followed on a continue basis. Healthy eating is all about consistency in your approach, it’s not about short bursts of restrictive eating. Remember that you are a product of what you do, and if you set yourself up for failure early on, you will struggle to get the job done, and you waste more time on bad diets, instead of just focussing on healthy eating.


The problem with many people on a diet is that they don’t know how to eat well, and they make basic, but fatal errors in their approach. We only eat foods that we are comfortable with, and we are only comfortable with these food groups because it’s what our parents fed us. Think about it! Illegitimate companies selling the promise of a quick-fix solution often entice desperate consumers into parting with their hard-earned cash. In all cases, they achieve no long-term results and fall deeper and deeper into a downward spiral of desperation.
The old saying goes ‘you are what you eat’, but few people take any notice of this during their quest for weight management or even lean muscle tissue growth. More than half of the problems have been identified in the question. No training and a poor diet mean that you will never achieve your goal! Supplements enhance the effects of the correct diet, exercise and recovery, but are only really beneficial if you change the way you eat and train. Supplements are your support or a boost, not a magic potion! Weight control is about reviewing everything that you eat and do on a daily basis! Preparation is key in your dietary approach. It only takes 10-20 minutes every evening to prepare food for the next day. You have to ensure that you eat every 3 waking hours to support a heightened metabolic rate This has to become a habit! This takes a little bit of practice, but it will soon become a habit when you notice those positive physique changes and an improved feel-good-factor. Anyone who has ever achieved their goal physique will tell you that you never miss a meal! Smaller portions more often actually help to increase your metabolic rate, enhance fat burning, improve your lean muscle tissue maintenance and make you feel better. Winners find a way, losers make excuses.

Exercise non-negotiable. Activity will help on two areas – it increases your metabolic rate, and it helps with toning/conditioning. You have to make time to train for at least 45 minutes daily to see a successful change and a healthier end product.

I want to start your 12 week training program,with the use of the Rapid Fat loss plan and Rapid Fat loss training plan for women.I see that the training consist of three days. What do you do the other days? And how do I use the supplements during the days I will not be training?

The USN rep at my chemist said that I only need to take the Phedra cut before breafast and lunch and the CLA Pure 1000 after breakfast and after lunch. On the fat loss plan it states that I have to do the same for dinner. Must I do this?

You should do so for dinner as well but please only take the Phedra-Cut Ultra XT before your breakfast and lunch.

Phedra-Cut Ultra XT should not be taken after 16:00. The CLA Pure 1000 is fine to take after 16:00.

The is no error with the eating plan and I'd advise you to follow it as it is.

I wish to do the B&L Challenge but i also wish to cycle.How would you recommend I do this. I wish to train ith weights 3 days per week and cycle for 90 minutes on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but about 180 minutes on a Saturday and Sunday. when would I hit the gym, and what about recovery?

Thank you for your enquiry.

You can still do the Challenge even if you cycle. We have a Home-Based Training Plan that you can use on those days when it’s not convenient to hit the gym.

We have sent you a training plan so that you can see how you can incorporate it in your current training plan.

It is also advisable to have one rest day/week.

I have downloaded a lot of info from the USN site, but i am still not sure how many times a week i must train. I already bought most of the USN products required to start with the challenge. We have worked out our eating plan. But i am battling to put together a training schedule.

The Starter costs around R690-R750 and the products will last you for 3 to 4 weeks.

Thereafter, you will have to purchase the products separately.

You can expect to pay around R1500 (excluding Starter Pack), depending on the products that you will be using as well as the outlet that you will buy it from.

Depending on your specific needs, this amount could be less.

You will personally need to do an investigation on the price that will suit your pocket, as the costs differ from outlet to outlet.
